Jury awards almost $38 million to five victims of Watson Grinding explosion in Houston
The explosion occurred on Jan. 24, 2020, in a residential area in West Houston near 4500 Gessner Rd. at the Watson Grinding and Manufacturing facility. Three people died, and at least 18 others were sent to nearby emergency rooms. Nearly 200 homes were reported as having some sort of damage as a result.

Texas Southern University athletic director sued by staffer over alleged sexual assault
Kevin Granger, who has spent more than 30 years working for the historically Black university in Houston's Third Ward, has reportedly been placed on leave in light of the lawsuit. It alleges that Granger made sexual comments to the staffer on several occasions and groped her during a late April meeting in his office.
