(not required, but if you sign up we can keep you in the loop about possible bad-weather cancellations.)
On Tuesday Port Phillip Bicycle Users Group went for a ride with new Port Phillip councillors Cr Libby Buckingham and Cr Justin Halliday. We looked at some dodgy infrastructure that needs improving, like the unprotected lanes on St Kilda Rd over the hill; and some excellent new facilities, like the protected lanes north of the junction, and the pocket park outside St Kilda Primary School.
Thanks Crs Buckingham and Halliday! We wish you well in your term on Council.
The Elwood community has been asking for a safe crossing on Glen Huntly Road for 15 years.
We took the local councillors to look at the crossing in 2018. It would allow kids to safety reach the school grounds out of hours when the crossing supervisors attend, and help all users of the popular canal path.

On Thursday 8th March we took Councillors Katherine Copsey, Tim Baxter and Dick Gross for a tour around the Canal Ward to look at the infrastructure that makes riding a joy... or a nightmare. (Handout with map and site descriptions here. )
If it has a TRAFFIC CONE it's OK, right?
(Yes, this is why we need separated bike lanes)
