The Praetorian Empire was a place with one of the most well-developed media landscapes you could imagine. So many channels, so many ideas, even if they weren’t all given the money and time to do everything. There were so many good ways to keep a population contained. Like, for example, the promotional hero shows that lived in the space of Reality TV, DocuDrama, and Sentai Program like Silver Hearts. Silver Hearts was a show for the compliance-inclined inquisitive power-fantasy driven tween to teen demographic, and one of the cast was the hero group’s Nonthreatening Edgy Hunk, Heartquake.

When his ratings took a sharp dip due to ‘demographic shifting,’ he got to find out just how abruptly the benefits of Praetoria could be withdrawn. Really, it’s a good thing that Praetoria blew up or his story might have become a real bummer.

How appropriate that today is National Super Hero Day, because it's also City of Heroes 22nd anniversary! Now I wonder if the game was launched on this day in 2004 because of this specific holiday.

I'll be celebrating in #CoH this evening, probably by running an Imperious Task Force on Everlasting (Homecoming servers). I hope to see you there!

Meet The OC: Mu’Lti

Someone has to be the best.

Lti (pronounced a bit like ‘Ilty’) has a burden few of the Mu in the Etoile struggle with. Most Mu have to work hard and concentrate and focus and struggle with the attenuation to reach into the ancient texts to tap even the mildest bursts of Mu power. There are stories of some ancient, body-hopping experts, some soul-extorting freaks and some genetic misplacements that break these rules, but almost always, Mu mages are scraping the filaments of a god from the sky and the power they have to countenance heroes is that – a faintest reserve of an immeasurably powerful deity.

For Lti, it’s just there.

Hey everyone, remember City of Heroes? Well now is a great time to get back into the game! City of Heroes Homecoming is officially licensed and free to play. Everything is unlocked and you can have up to 1000 characters per shard.

And coming up soon is the April Fools / Dreaded Mapserver event. This usually runs for the first two weeks in April, and consists of an enemy group invasion that rotates through various zones. The mobs in this group are worth TEN TIMES the normal XP! This stacks with (adds to) the 2x XP bonus you can get from the START vendor, for a total of 11x XP. It's the fastest way to level up a character amidst absolute chaos.

If anyone in the Fediverse plays City of Heroes, I just finished publishing my last AE arc (now I gotta ask the GMs for more!)

I'd love someone to play my most recent two and give feedback on them. They are Best Left Buried (Arc ID 71145), and Operation: Rift Requisition (Arc ID 71438). BLB is a Praetorian Arc and O:RR is a Villain Arc!

I worked really hard on them and it would mean a lot to me if folks gave them a shot.
