I wake before the alarm to a newly repopulated house; my wife, jet-lagged into early waking, has already made coffee! I head out into the morning, arriving at Roosevelt Circle a little late, at 7:33, greeting Craige, and setting up my various. Today's hand-held sign is the relatively wordy SCIENTIFIC IGNORANCE IS A POOR FOUNDATION FOR PUBLIC POLICY.

I wake with the alarm and head downstairs for pre-vigil coffee, completing various small domestic tasks along the way, as wife & (now adult) kid return from India this afternoon, so the house should be looking good. Hit the road, arrive at Roosevelt Circle at 7:29, set up big sign & speaker, lean on rail holding MOTHER NATURE DOESN'T CARE WHAT YOU BELIEVE. No Craige today.

Monday and I wake before the alarm, gather myself for the morning, and stagger downstairs for pre-vigil coffee. I head out to Roosevelt Circle, arriving at 7:30, and set up my various accoutrements. Today being the beginning of the week, I am as usual holding up ALL-BLACK signage for the duration of our national nightmare. Craige arrives about 7:35 or so.

It rained last night in the wee hours, and everything is warm and damp this morning as I set out to Roosevelt Circle a minute or two behind, arriving at 7:33 and setting up. Craige is out today so I am a soloist. I set up my big sign, couple my speaker, and take my seat on the railing. The hand-held sign for today is 2021 IPCC REPORT: "CODE RED" FOR HUMANITY.
