I was thinking about LLMs, coding, and where our industry seems to be going, and I suddenly recalled an aphorism by E.M. Cioran:

“I gallivant through the days like a prostitute in a world without sidewalks”

Now I’m at the same time a bit more depressed, and a bit more bitterly and cynically smiling.

Młodzieńcze dzieło Ciorana pięknie wpisuje się w cały egzystencjalizm. Wskazuje absurd i rozpacz towarzyszące świadomemu istnieniu ale w żaden sposób nie odpowiada na pytanie „Po co właściwie to wszystko?”. I dobrze. Prawdopodobnie odpowiedź nie istnieje, a próby jej udzielenia w wykonaniu – powiedzmy – Camusa czy Nietzschego, okazały się bardzo słabe i łatwe do obalenia.
