I wanted something I could stay consistent with—even on low-energy days.

So I’m starting a banned books series.

Book #1 is To Kill a Mockingbird.

Because the stories people try to silence…
are usually the ones we need the most.

I wanted to create content that works even on low-energy days—because real life doesn’t always give you perfect, high-energy moments.

These are the stories that have been challenged, restricted, or silenced for talking about race, identity, power, and truth.

This series is about reading them anyway.

Because sometimes the books people try to hide are the ones we need the most.

✨ Today’s reminder from my body: pacing matters.

I’ve done very little, and still nearly maxed out my energy points for the day. That’s the reality of living with chronic illness — sometimes “rest” takes just as much effort as “doing.”
So today, I’m honoring the slowdown. Resting isn’t giving up; it’s choosing to keep going tomorrow. 💤💙

I needed to get this out last night, even though I am usually a little brighter with my posts. Hope it helps at least one other to put words to their own struggles.

Chenille rayon is truly awful. But, it’s now combed, separated and wound. And that was more than enough effort for one day. It’s now cat-safe, so I can rest.

Just existing today. Got the work done in a timely fashion, and just hoping that gravity doesn't go whacky on me again. Whatever it was, even with taking a hefty dose of pain meds last night, everything is achy today. Good thing the only thing on my to-do list is to sit here and knit, heh.

Yes, first sock of this pair is going well. My goal for last night was to start on the heel flap; I got one row short of that before 10pm hit. So today's goal is to finish the heel, and get started on the gusset. It's doable if I can manage a wee bit of focus (insert honking here ><).
