Make no mistake:

These are grifters selling poison for their own enrichment as much as it’s also propaganda for christofascism.

If it wasn’t a sell, if this was purely about educating girls and young women about God’s plan for them, they wouldn’t be charging admission fees.

If it wasn’t propaganda, if these women truly believed the things they’re saying, it wouldn’t be them saying it on stage. They’d be at home, tending to their babies they can’t afford, and it would be men up on stage saying these things to girls and young women.

But a “Christian” woman has to make money somehow in this capitalist system that values human life only so much as it can turn a profit, and the men of TPUSA know that this messaging just won’t hit the same coming from a man, so here we are, stuck with a generation of self-loathing hypocrites selling servitude to the girls and young women they used to be.

When I share an article, I usually quote a passage that stood out to me or that I think people should see if they’re not going to read the whole piece. I confess to being stumped when it comes to picking just one thing to share from this story in Salon about the latest anti-feminist summit hosted by TPUSA.

These people hate themselves nearly as much as they hate the rest of us, fam. It’s sad. Really, I feel for these women who are so deep into the toxic bullshit of Christian patriarchy that they can only see themselves as servants and baby mills and can only hate other women who don’t submit to that version of slavery.

Too many versions of Christianity being practiced in the USA are simply religious cover for ignorance and bigotry, but the flavor TPUSA is selling is particularly poisonous. I hope the girls and young women they’re trying to reach don’t drink the Kool-Aid.
