Well, much to my surprise, I genuinely enjoyed Red One. It's tongue in cheek and horrendously cheesy at times but is so over the top I found it a fun watch.

What truly defines a Christmas film? Does it have to be specifically about Christmas? Or can it just be Christmas adjacent?

For example, an unlikely Christmas film is Nightmare Before Christmas because the main theme is Christmas. However, I would argue that a film like Elf is Christmas adjacent because, although it takes place at Christmas, it is really a heart warming story about family.
