Since 1827 the text of the Åbo Christmas Peace proclamation reads:

"Tomorrow, God willing, is the gracious feast of the birth of our Lord and Saviour; and therefore a general Christmas peace is hereby proclaimed and enjoined, with warning to everyone to celebrate this feast with due reverence, and otherwise to observe a quiet and peaceful conduct," (8/n)
