Il Rakow – come nella gara di 7 giorni fa – era andato in vantaggio con Struski, ma la Fiorentina ha reagito di nuovo e ha trovato il pareggio con Piccoli pochi minuti dopo. “Nel primo tempo abbiamo fatto fatica a capire che calcio dovessimo fare. Volevamo provare a giocare, ma il campo non lo permetteva. Eravamo in ritardo sulle seconde palle. Nella ripresa siamo andati in svantaggio ma è andata molto meglio. Ora questa squadra sa reagire. Chi è entrato ci ha dato una spinta, siamo diventati un gruppo. A volte, la qualificazione si deve prendere anche in modo sporco”, ha dichiarato l’allenatore della Fiorentina, Paolo Vanoli, ai microfoni di Sky Sport nel post gara. “Ora abbiamo più serenità. Dobbiamo rimanere con i piedi per terra. Piccoli mi ha detto che il gol dell’1-1 era il suo. Pongracic è cresciuto molto da quando sono qua. Il suo gol mi ha sorpreso – aggiunge il tecnico ex Torino -. Kean è un giocatore importante e quando c’è l’arrabbiatura per la sostituzione vuol dire che c’è voglia di giocare. Abbiamo ancora nove finali, è un giocatore importante per noi. Dodò e Parisi si trovano bene sulla stessa fascia. Parisi da esterno alto ci ha fatto cambiare marcia. Sono veramente contento di tutti i ragazzi”.

In the final minutes, there was a fright for the Viola team: the referee awarded a penalty for Christensen’s foul on Brunes. Then VAR review: simulation and a yellow card. In the 97th minute, with the Rakow goalkeeper in the penalty area desperately searching for a 2-1, Fiorentina also scored 1-2 with a goal from Pongracic from midfield.
