I watched with classmates on #ThisDayInHistory in 1986 as the #SpaceShuttle #Challenger exploded on live television. The principal thought watching would be great for us as teacher #ChristaMcAuliffe was on board. I still lament the fall in public #SpaceExploration funds/efforts.

I will forever remember the morning the Challenger Space Shuttle exploded. I was at Cornell University and on my way to take an exam. As an avid follower of the Space Shuttle programme the event devastated me - reading this 40-years-after article about what could have been brought back a lot of emotion...

I sincerely hope that the lessons learned are appreciated today with the push for space missions...

I haven't seen much remembering the Challenger space shuttle disaster, which took place 37 years ago today/yesterday (depending on where you are in the world) and resulted in the deaths of the seven astronauts onboard. There's some evidence that the tragedy could have been avoided.
