Chris Stamey - it's alright
Stamey only lasted two (great) albums during the dB's initial run, and this was his second (kinda; Fireworks was rejected) solo album...on A&M, no less.
Packed with 80s talent like Anton Fier, Alex Chilton, Richard Lloyd, Graham Maby, Marshall Crenshaw, Mitch Easter, Bernie Worrell, it's interesting to hear him put together some more straightforward pop songs.
Didn't bring him stardom, but still it's a great record.

Chris Stamey (The dB’s) taps Jason Schwartzman for Beach Boys-inspired 'I’d Be Lost Without You' video
Fans of the dB’s - the long-out-of-print, only available on import (on Albion, as I remember) first dB's LP is getting re-released!
This is a gem (along with Repercussion) - https://propellersoundrecordings.com/collections/pre-order-the-db-s-stands-for-decibels-2024-remaster
When the dB’s first album (Stands for Decibels) came out in 1981, it was a delight—followed by the equally great Repercussion.
What I didn’t know was that Holsapple, Stamey and Mitch Easter were in a band together called Rittenhouse Square in 1972. While their LP is basically impossible to find (unless you want to spend > $1000, or get really lucky at a Goodwill), it's available on the 'tube:
