Took inspiration from this amazing piece of Chris Foss pre-production art from the unmade 1975 Dune film. Foss is a living god really.

I'd always known about #ChrisFoss; back in the 80s it was impossible to buy #SpaceOpera without his art. But I never realised that, like me, he is from #Guernsey. Then I came across "Surrealist Defences" in the island museum. I recognised it, both as Chris Foss, and because that is the #German observation tower at L'Erée (pron "leRAY"). https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fort_Saumarez. Chris Foss (1946- ), a native of Guernsey in the Channel Islands, is a British painter, book cover art illustrator and general illustrator, specializing in modern historical illustrations and science fiction illustrations. Foss has been a freelance artist since his teens, beginning with developing signage for various companies on Guernsey. In the 1960s, he attended a boarding school in Dorset, where he was encouraged to train for an art scholarship. He later studied at Magdalene College, Cambrid
