"De Centra Seksuele Gezondheid hadden in de eerste zes maanden van dit jaar iets meer dan 73.000 consulten. Dat is bijna 11 procent minder dan een jaar eerder. Volgens het RIVM melden vooral vrouwen en heteroseksuele mannen zich minder."

"Bij ongeveer 7300 mensen werd gonorroe vastgesteld. In de eerste helft van vorig jaar gebeurde dit bij ruim 6800 mensen. Het aantal gevallen van syfilis steeg van ruim achthonderd naar ruim negenhonderd. Negentig mensen kregen te horen dat ze hiv hebben opgelopen, het virus dat aids kan veroorzaken. Dat aantal is vrijwel gelijk aan vorig jaar."
