📢 A new era for sustainable semiconductor manufacturing has begun! GENESIS has officially launched! As the backbone of our digital world, semiconductors are indispensable. However, their production comes with a significant environmental footprint. That's why GENESIS, a groundbreaking 36-month project, is stepping up to revolutionize the industry's sustainability. Coordinated by CEA-Leti. This ambitious initiative unites #58 partners – a powerful consortium of leading research institutions, industry giants, and innovative SMEs from across Europe. Co-funded by the #ChipsJU under #HorizonEurope, #SERI, and member states funding, GENESIS is directly tackling the critical challenge of making semiconductor manufacturing environmentally sustainable, fully aligned with the European Green Deal and #ChipsActEU. Our overarching mission is to achieve environmental sustainability across materials, processes, and supply chains, without compromising technological performance or industrial competitiveness. Over the next three years, GENESIS will drive innovation by: 💠 Developing an integrated strategy to significantly reduce pollution, emissions, and dependency on critical substances, including #PFAS. 🌟 Pioneering environmentally friendly materials and #PFAS alternatives to set new industry standards. 🌍 Redesigning semiconductor manufacturing processes for drastically reduced emissions and cleaner outputs. ✨ Introducing advanced sensing and monitoring technologies to enable real-time control and minimization of environmental impact.
