While I wasn't paying attention, my chilli plants are doing odd things! 🌶️

One fruit is green and finger-sized, but all the others are tiny and black. Any idea why they're growing so differently?

I got these seeds in a swap from a friend in Germany. The envelope was labelled “Buschpfeffer”.

I need the wisdom of the crowd on this one 😊

Could it be that chilli plants draw a lot of nutrients from the soil, meaning chillies don’t grow as well in the same spot the following year?

If chillies do deplete the soil, what would be good plants to grow there afterwards to help the soil recover?

Any tips welcome — and feel free to boost this so more experienced growers might see it 🌱

Heute hatte ich meinen ersten richtig erfolgreichen Flug mit #chilli, einem F5L Gleiter. Äh ja, speziell aber sehr spannend. Mit seinen 2m wiegt er knapp 530 Gramm flugfertig und alles was nach oben aufsteigt findet er ausreichend und zeigt es deutlich an! #modellflug #modellflugzeug #chilli

My baby chilli plants are growing well & sprouting little flower buds. Once the tallest plants have got a few sets of flower buds I'll pinch the tops out to encourage the plants to bush out.
