The warm weather convinced the chillies to grow but this year it’s sloooow 🌱... and only 17 out of 30 seeds have sprouted so far.

Flor, troubleThe soil in the pot of this little chili plant was a bit low, so I added worm poop. Now it should become a big chili plant. I don't know for sure which variety this plant is, it showed up outside in autumn. It's probably Serrano Purple or has one as a parent, the leaves were purple when it was small. I have grown other purple chilies, it could also be one of those.
IngerPeperplanten verhuisd van de volkstuin naar huis. Het wordt nu echt te fris. Zomers zijn te koel/kort hier voor de meeste pepers die ik wil groeien. Ze rijpen meestal niet en geven per plant hoogstens 3 pepers. Maar als de plant de winter binnen overleeft, lukt het soms om het jaar daarop (of soms 2-3 jr) wel goed te groeien en af te rijpen. Maar het duurt dus lang. Jaar 1 plantje, jaar 2 hopelijk pepers 🤷♀️.

The first time was on Sunday when one of my Home Care workers brought me a bag of homemade baked goods which included cinnamon rolls, blueberry muffins, and some sort of a small chocolate cake or chocolate bread. Not only that, but last night I was pleasantly surprised with dinner from my GF. Southwestern style eggrolls from Chili’s, which I hadn’t had in years. Brent LineberryLast week I made the Tempura Sauerkraut and Onions recipe from J. Kenji Lopez-Alt’s The Wok cookbook.
The end result was fine, but more chewy than crisp. If we were really into tempura, I’d give these tempura recipes some more work. But we’re not really into tempura.
