#PennedPossibilities 830 — Have you ever created a SC that you later wished was the MC?

Louan and Maddie are SC in #SpiritChase, the first book of #TheSpiritChapters. They are MC of #SpiritChant, book two.
Benni is SC in both books and MC in the third, #SpiritCircle. Rose is a minor character in #SpiritChant and MC in the last.

Only one example. Daniel was originally planned as SC, but the story didn't work that way. So he became MC of #ChildrenOfAngels.

#3GoodThings Feb 4

1. My new book, #DerDienerDesGrafen, is currently #1 in the Kindle category "German Historical Belletristic" and was #7 overall this morning (yes, I KNOW, Amazon... but I'm still happy!)

2. Got three great new covers from a cover designer I met on social media for a re-launch of #ChildrenOfAngels!

3. The terrible stomach bug that knocked me out on Sunday seems to have passed.

#WritersCoffeeClub Jan 30 Do secondary characters sometimes get promoted to main characters?

In #ChildrenOfAngels Daniel got promoted from SC (first draft) to one of the three MCs. Worked better that way.

And Lena of #OfElvesAndWolves got her own book in the end too.

#WordWeavers Sep 21. Is your world inhabited by humans only or do other intelligent creatures live there as well?

Depends on the story. The world of #OfElvesAndWolves is filled with non-humans, as #TheSpiritChapters or #ChildrenOfAngels.

But the historical books have humans only, unless you count apes, ravens, dolphins, and the kind.

#WordWeavers Aug 20: Have you ever written about a place that was very hot?

Yes. Part of the #ChildrenOfAngels trilogy takes place in the Namib, the oldest and maybe hottest desert on Earth.

And when Max and Katja flee Jerusalem in #OdysseyToThePromisedLand, they have to cross dry and hot country as well.

#writerscoffeeclub Jul 25 Thinking about your WIP, have you changed anything in your process from earlier work? What/how?

I'm way too early in this project for this question.

Regarding former books - yes, I have done that. #ChildrenOfAngels was meant to be told from one POV, but it worked only when I included all MCs POV (and turned one SC into an MC).

Also, #DieSängerVonThurán was meant as a standalone, but I wasn't done with my MCs. Thus, I had to tweak book 1 a little and wrote 2 more.

#writerscoffeeclub Jul 7: Do you structure your WIP into chapters/sections as you write? Do you use epigraphs? Share the basic structure for your WIP

I do, it helps me navigate my work. This is also why I have chapter titles - I didn't have these when I started #ChildrenOfAngels, but over the course of 2 years it took me to write that story, I often needed to look up scenes. Thus, the chapters got titles, and those stuck.

Now, it depends on the story. #TheMindOnFire is structured like:

#pennedpossibilities 270 — Would your MC or SC consider themselves spiritual?

This warrants the cast of #ChildrenOfAngels

Flo and Miriam would not call themselves that, but Daniel would. The first time he connects with on a spiritual level, it totally freaks him out. Granted, that is special for them too,but meditation and interacting with the spiritual level is normal for them. Thus, Flo and Miriam would only roll their eyes at this question...

#wordweavers Mar 30. What dessert would go best with your book?

What a question!

That would be creme brulee for sure.

#ChildrenOfAngels

As March is drawing to a close (and I'm off too Paris to celebrate an 18th birthday - not mine 🤣), I wonder which WIP to choose for upcoming prompts of #pennedpossibilities #wordweavers #phantastikprompts

#ChildrenOfAngels is published and done.

I still got the #TimeTravelAuthors WIP that needs to be edited.
I also have a translation of a historical story in need of edits.
And I have this historical idea I started last year and pushed back because of coding school.

What shall I do? Help?
