A foundational study published by the Guttmacher Institute confirmed that adult men are responsible for the vast majority of pregnancies among school-age teenagers. Specifically, the research found that men aged 20 and older fathered 60% of babies born to school-age girls, and adult men aged 20–29 were frequently the partners of girls under the age of 18.
