I will be growing #ChestnutMushrooms starting tomorrow. Kit was created from my friend's gourmet mushrooms commercial operation on their family farm - they don't sell kits to public at this time, they sell harvests to restaurants/food companies in BC.

It is my first time growing this type of edible mushroom. I grew oyster mushrooms awhile back & probably growing those ones again in early new year.

About 18 months ago (spring 23) when Forest and I had a Shiitake and Oyster mushroom inoculation party we also tried inoculating white and black birch logs with Chestnut mushroom spawn for the first time. This was an experiment, didn’t know how it would work out — and we’ve now got clumps fruiting on both the White and Black Birch! They are small and have a mild nutty flavor.
