I will be growing #ChestnutMushrooms starting tomorrow. Kit was created from my friend's gourmet mushrooms commercial operation on their family farm - they don't sell kits to public at this time, they sell harvests to restaurants/food companies in BC.

It is my first time growing this type of edible mushroom. I grew oyster mushrooms awhile back & probably growing those ones again in early new year.

About 18 months ago (spring 23) when Forest and I had a Shiitake and Oyster mushroom inoculation party we also tried inoculating white and black birch logs with Chestnut mushroom spawn for the first time. This was an experiment, didnโ€™t know how it would work out โ€” and weโ€™ve now got clumps fruiting on both the White and Black Birch! They are small and have a mild nutty flavor.
