#Chessable is out of control. I guess they're thriving, because they keep releasing courses every day, but who is buying them? Nearly $300 Canadian for the average video course. I have bought several opening courses from them with no video, and have tried a few video courses and returned them. The video components are often monotonous read-throughs of the moves. Even with sales, the courses still seem wildly overpriced. They must have a large buyer base of Patrick Bateman types.
Ansonsten ist #Chessable aber wirklich empfehlenswert. Es ist das erste Mal in meinem Leben, dass ich eine Chance sehe, #Schach-Eröffnungen nachhaltig zu lernen.
Die Kurse sind nicht günstiger als ein Schachbuch, mit Videos sind sie sogar ganz schön üppig-teuer, aber gelegentlich gibt es da auch nen Sale, so dass ich neulich diesen Kurs für unter 20€ geklickt habe (ohne die Videos, aber laut Internetforen sind die bei den meisten Kursen auch nicht wesentlich für den Lernerfolg): https://www.chessable.com/beginners-guide-to-chess-openings-repertoire-for-black-white/course/133811/
Dort wird jede Eröffnung mit Varianten und gängigen Fehlern sehr schön erklärt und es gibt eine Trainerfunktion, mit der man die dann so lange nachspielen muss, bis sie sitzen (Ansatz mit spaced repetition, also wie beim Vokabel-Lernen)

Chessable: helping me memorize 24-move computer lines that lead to an objectively drawn position against perfect opposition (that I will never see in real life) so that I can blow the +0.1 advantage within the next two moves.
What I could really use is a course that covers the first eight moves of a wider variety of imperfect human openings. Show me what to do against the inaccuracies that people routinely play.
Ever so slightly peeved at the language used by this correspondence chess player in his #Chessable course. In many instances, he somewhat proudly declares "I found" this move or that move.
I would say that no correspondence player is finding any moves these days, and I'm somewhat skeptical of the idea that a correspondence player with an engine is any better than an engine by itself. I would like to believe it — and the correspondence world is interesting to me — but I have big doubts.
