Looking at my recce route for @WilliamNB #CheshireRing guide - trying to find alternatives to the dire section of the Trent & Mersey canal. Komoot reckons its 9.5 hrs long and I'm adding at least a couple more due to stops for food, taking notes & pictures and any mishaps. So 12hrs ... which means several hours in the dark. I've already replanned the return leg to use off-road paths and mimimise country roads in the dark ...
