This is a reminder that the "laws and regulations" just define the worst you can do without criminal or civil penalties.

The laws and regulations do not mean that it is safe. Just that the company cannot be held accountable for their actions if they follow "all laws and regulations"

Governments making people think #climatechange is the only threat only helps #capitalism to wreak more havoc. People are persuaded to think they could keep their economic #prosperity, just by doing everything "green." This is a lie. Sc #GreenEnergy alone would need way too much raw materials than the earth could give us; and their extraction means more #ChemicalPollution than we already have. Now add all other material goods people are not willing to give up.

#Oceans are already grappling with #GlobalWarming, #OceanAcidification, #BiodiversityLoss, #BottomTrawling, #Overfishing and #ChemicalPollution, especially #PlasticPollution.

#DeepSeaMining threatens to destabilize marine ecosystems even further. Moreover, as far as I know, the environmental impacts are not well understood but they'd certainly be devastating for marine life.

It's outrageous to attempt to justify the destruction of the #DeepSea in order to do the #EnergyTransition.
