There are many cheerful news stories about incarcerated people who are thriving in #college #classes. What those stories often fail to mention is that not all incarcerated people have access to those opportunities. Many are either in #prisons without classes or are languishing on waiting lists. @CharlotteWest has documented the problem of waiting lists in #Illinois, mentioning a person who has "been on a #waitlist since 2006 – nearly 19 years".
