But the realism of Martin’s stone being wrought in ways both startlingly naturalistic (like that photo of #MaunaLoa & yet also biblical is part of the dialogue lit by Scottish geologist Charles Lyell’s ‘Principles of Geology: Being an Attempt to Explain the Former Changes of the Earth's Surface, by Reference to Causes Now in Operation’.
