Back in the office I found a postcard (only one? Have to work on my reputation.) from #39c3 send by #chaospost. No sender has been given, but the person used red ink so it must be important. Content is the (I assume current) access password of the comparatively public fallback Wifi at #hsbremerhaven.

Well, there has been discussions about posting this password on mastodon, so I assume that this refers to this.

The stamp, if not randomly chosen, is the "Chaosknoten", the logo of the Chaos Computer Club #ccc. Quite nice, because it is the first time ever I am seeing this kind of customized stamp. My phone can even recognize the Data Matrix code on the stamp. :-) So, thanks for the nice reminder.

The slogan on the front of the postcard: "Wir hacken alles!" has been extended by a "auch ihr WLAN". I, sadly, have to state here, that I do not think that "recovering" or "disclosing" actually qualifies as an act of hacking. If anything at all you might file it under "activism".

Nonetheless, Thank You anonymous sender. You brought a smile of joy on my face. (And seemingly no one else deemed me worthy of Chaospost, so there is that.)

Okay, zugegeben: Auf dem Foto sieht man primär mich beim Einwerfen von Postkarten in den #ChaosPost-Briefkasten. Der stand am #39c3 und da war es unmöglich den Briefkasten ohne anderen Wesen zu fotografieren.

This year at #39c3 I received two post cards, sent by the same person. One was sent from #38c3, the other over legacy packet networks. They were both delivered by different people, within 5 minutes of each other. They contained incredibly kind and beautiful words. I just re-read them in the train. And damn, that means a lot. Thank you #chaospost for being crazy enough to make this possible. Thank you everyone for being excellent to each other, and making sure every creature feels welcome.
