Look up the story of #Ilon #Shor (now a fugitive in #Israel), the #ShorParty, the #ChanceParty, and how they went from "Shor, to Chance" in Moldova 😂

See if you find any similarities with the current #GOP

#Russia is trying to #destabilize #Moldova with #electionInterference

Moldovan #oligarch #Ilan #Shor was head of Russia-friendly #ShorParty, which was declared unconstitutional in June.

After it was banned, they acquired other parties to weaken gov & democracy as a whole. Result was pro-Russia #ChanceParty -- From Shor to Chance 😂 but just as pro-Russian!

Fugitive Ilan Shor's story is quite illuminating especially in context of US oligarchs trying to destroy US

Moldova's pro-Western government hails elections despite mayoral losses in capital and key cities

Moldova’s ruling pro-European party has lost a bid for the mayorship of the country’s capital and other key cities despite victories in many areas in local elections that were overshadowed by accusations of Russia's meddling. Lilian Carp of the Party of Action and Solidarity, or PAS, lost out to incumbent Chisinau mayor, Ion Ceban, who won just over 50% of the capital’s vote. Before Ceban set up a pro-European party last year, he was widely considered to hold a pro-Russian stance. In recent years, Moldova has looked to foster closer ties with its Western partners and was granted EU candidate status in June last year.

Moldova’s national intelligence & security agency #SIS published a report alleging that Russia was trying to “influence the electoral process” through the pro-Russia #ChanceParty

The Party received ~$53 million channeled by arrested Moldovan #oligarch #Ilan #Shor, who fled to #Israel, and has been working with Kremlin to destabilize the country and “buy” voters. The Party was subsequently banned from elections last Sunday

Moldovans cast ballots in local elections amid claims of Russian meddling

Moldovans are casting ballots in nationwide local elections amid claims by Moldovan authorities that Russia has been conducting “hybrid warfare” to undermine the vote in the European Union candidate country. While local elections in Moldova, a country of about 2.5 million people situated between Romania and Ukraine, would not usually garner much international attention, ongoing accusations of Russian meddling add a geopolitical dimension to the vote. Sunday’s ballot will elect nearly 900 mayors and 11,000 local councilors for a four-year term, including key positions such as mayor of the capital, Chisinau.
