Overview Within the northwestern portion of the mainland of the State of Vermont is the County of Franklin, home to the City of Saint Albans and towns such as Georgia, Saint Albans, and Swanton, just to name a few. The communities are situated to the north of the Burlington area and are often considered smaller towns or rural communities, all on the east side of Lake Champlain in the area.
