Actor #ChaimTopol, often billed by just his last name, has died at 87 following a long battle with Alzheimer's. Topol is best known for the Oscar-nominated role of Tevye on stage and film in #FiddlerOnTheRoof. His first film was 1961's "I Like Mike", and his credits include "Cast a Giant Shadow", "The Public Eye", "Flash Gordon", "For Your Eyes Only". TV credits include "The House on Garibaldi Street", "The Winds of War", "Queenie", "Tales of the Unexpected" and "SeaQuest 2032". #RIP

#ChaimTopol, the spirited Israeli actor and singer who portrayed #Tevye the milkman in #FiddlerontheRoof on stages all around the world and in an Oscar-nominated turn in Norman Jewison’s 1971 film adaptation, has died. He was 87.

Topol died Thursday in Tel Aviv after a long illness.
