Trump says the U.K. decision to hand a strategic island to Mauritius, which he previously supported, was stupid, and justification for his attempt to acquire Greenland.
@Nonilex I've been following @yuanyiz.bsky.social for a few years -- mostly on Twitter -- and he's written in several articles that this deal with #Mauritius is contrary to the wishes of the #Chagossians , as well as being unwise in other ways.

🎥 "Stealing a Nation" is a 2004 #documentary about the British–American clandestine operation that saw the expulsion of the Chagossian population who have lived on Diego Garcia and neighbouring islands since the late 18th century. More than 2,000 people were exiled to Mauritius between 1967 and 1973, so that Diego Garcia could become a US military airbase.
