This article by Kate McClymont is not easy to read. It's an extraordinary account of the allegations against Alan Jones of sexual assaults against multiple people over many years.

Brave of people to come forward with this information, and some gusty reporting by Kate McClymont. It's fair to say the newspaper would have gotten everything checked-over by lawyers before publishing this article and deciding they're up for a tough legal fight.

Radio shock-jock, Alan jones is lawyering-up to sling a defo charge at Nine Newspapers and investigative journalist, Kate McClymont. They've revealed credible allegations that Alan Jones indecently assaulted four young men by groping or kissing them while he was in the nadir (RWNJs would say peak) of his radio career. It's another case of high-profile men acting badly, and reacting by using the courts as a weapon by countering with defamation claims.

You may recall that Alan Jones is a foul-mouthed misogynist and all-round awful person.

Jones has been called-out by regulators for repeatedly performing cash-for-comment: on-air fraud where he made favourable comments about companies such as Telstra, Qantas, Optus, Foxtel, Mirvac, and major banks without telling listeners he was being paid by them.

In 2005, Alan Jones encouraged violence and vilified Middle-Eastern people, saying "Come to Cronulla this weekend to take revenge". He helped to precipitate the Cronulla Riots.

Alan Jones' sexism and politically-motivated slurs included saying Prime Minister Julia Gillard was a liar, and that her father had "died of shame". He encouraged misogynistic violence against the Lord Mayor of Sydney, Clover Moore, by saying "Put her in the same chaff bag as Julia Gillard and throw them both out to sea". Of course, he said favourable things about Tony Abbott in the same breath.

More recently, Alan Jones has been a COVID-minimiser, and a long-time climate-change denier.

Lovely chap. I get the impression his colleagues at the radio station and in political circles knew about it and closed-ranks to protect Alan Jones.
