The Grant Arms on Argyle Street in Glasgow. Constructed in the early 1800s (but greatly altered by James Craigie in 1908), it's one of only two buildings left standing from the lost village of Grahamston, which largely disappeared when Central Station was built.

Due to the fire on Union Street, the old carriage entrance has been opened up to provide an alternative way into Central Station in Glasgow. This gives a chance to see some of the massive girders which support the station's main concourse. Looking very much like parts from a giant meccano set, they've been holding up the station for well over 100 years.

The Central Station viaduct over Argyle Street in central Glasgow. Designed by the architect James Miller and the engineer David Mathieson, it was built around 1900. It quickly earned the nickname of the Hielanman's Umbrella as it was a popular meeting spot for people who'd been forced to move from the Highlands of Scotland to the city in search of work as it offered shelter from Glasgow's notoriously inclement weather.
