Vermosa Green Run 2026 back in Imus, Cavite

Individual, everyday choices—like cutting down on food waste, conserving energy, avoiding single-use plastics, and reusing containers—have a massive cumulative impact on protecting global resources and reducing our carbon footprint.

Vermosa Green Run 2026

Driven by this philosophy, the fifth annual Vermosa Green Run in Imus, Cavite, Philippines on June 28, 2026 is back to champion ecosystem conservation, promote active lifestyles, and advocate for animal welfare as a core element of sustainability.

Eco-friendly habits on and off the track

Lani Tan, an athlete and the general manager of Ayala Vermosa Sports Hub, emphasizes that this year’s event aims to inspire runners to recognize their personal role in protecting the earth. She notes that sustainable living seamlessly blends into athletic training and race-day habits.

“Using reusable hydration bottles or collapsible cups, properly segregating waste, picking up litter along the route or whenever possible, and using designated disposal areas are simple habits that can easily be incorporated into training and race-day routines,” Tan stated.

Sustainability in action: Perks and gear

The event is putting these ideas into practice through several green initiatives:

  • Plastic Bottle Rewards: Participants who donate used plastic bottles will receive race perks, including a ₱100 registration discount. These bottles will be recycled into eco-bricks for future Ayala Land construction projects.
  • Recycled Race Gear: This year’s race singlets, finisher shirts, and dog bandanas are manufactured from recycled PET bottles, proving that plastic waste can be repurposed into high-quality athletic gear.

According to Tan, wearing this sustainable gear serves as a collective badge of honor, showing a shared dedication to preserving the natural environments that make outdoor activities possible.

Lasting impact beyond the finish line

For the organizers, the ultimate goal of the Green Run transcends race day. As the event celebrates its fifth anniversary, the hope is to spark a permanent lifestyle shift toward conscious consumption. Crossing the finish line should mark the beginning of a lifelong dedication to reducing waste, recycling, and respecting the environment at home, at work, and during future athletic pursuits.

Ultimately, building a healthier planet isn’t about grand gestures; it is about choosing to live more sustainably, one small step at a time.

My RedDoorz escape: Getting lost in Silang, Cavite, Philippines

RedDoorz helped me escape from the noisy and busy city from August 15-16, 2019.

Working as a freelance blogger, scriptwriter and actor in Metro Manila, Philippines could be exhausting. This was why when RedDoorz offered me a chance to escape from my hectic schedule in the metro, especially during rainy days, I easily said yes. The budget hotel startup offered an overnight stay in a list of hotels in Metro Manila and in Cavite and in Pampanga.

Automatically, I ruled out Metro Manila because it would not be an escape if it was in the same place I currently reside in. I lived in Pampanga from 2012 to 2013 so I chose Cavite instead.

It was not my first time to visit Cavite but I was not very familiar with the place. I enjoy going to such places, asking directions from the locals.

The RedDoorz Philippines staff booked a room for me, which was available from 2:00 p.m. of August 15, 2019 to 12:00 p.m. of August 16, 2019, at the Whitewoods Convention and Leisure Hotel at Santa Rosa-Tagaytay Road in Silang, Cavite, which is a few-minute ride away from Tagaytay City.

Reaching my destination without the help of technology is very rewarding. It is amazing how nice strangers are as they spare some time to help you get the information that you need without asking for anything in return.

On August 15, 2019, I left Pasay City, Metro Manila at 12:30 p.m. and reached Silang after 1 hour and 30 minutes by bus. Unfortunately, the bus conductor dropped at the wrong place and I had to ride two jeepneys and walk around 3 kilometers to reach the Whitewoods Convention and Leisure Hotel plus another 100-meter walk from the gate to the reception area.

At 5:30 p.m., I reached the Whitewoods Convention and Leisure Hotel at 5:30 p.m. Although I felt very tired, three hours and 30 minutes were shaved off my stay in the hotel so I tried to extend my waking hours and reduced my time to sleep, something I can do at home.

It was rainy in Metro Manila while the weather in Silang was as awesome as the kind locals there. It was a perfect time and perfect place to take a break even just for one day and one night.

Recently, I got rid of 3-in-1 coffee, 8 lbs and toxic people. I felt light and free as I escaped from the noise and rain in the metro without spending much.

Thanks to RedDoorz for helping me do all these. You deserve to escape, too.
