Superb and charming double inkwell from the Art Deco period (France, 1930s). The central bronze / spelter sculpture represents a trio of cats or kittens in a wicker basket, in spelter with bronze patina. Their joyful expressions bring lightness and cheerfulness. Two stylized inkwells, typical of the art deco years, surround it on either side. They are engraved made in France on the inside of their lid. They both contain a small glass container marked Orfear Paris. The veined black marble terrace highlights the whole.
