For the final Wednesday of October, my last #CastlevaniaIII track to share is from a ROM hack in progress. Aperature of Corruption had a demo last year. As Teuthida noted in the download, "In an ideal world, you'd be listening to the tracks included here as you experience the first public stage of Aperture of Corruption, as the developers and I originally intended. However, replacing a game's entire sound engine and music has proven to be a difficult and lengthy task, and we simply didn't have the time or resources to finish it in time for the demo's release. Rather than keeping people waiting even longer to see the first 'true' demo, we've elected to give you a taste of what the finished version of Aperture of Corruption should sound like in the form of this small soundtrack release, for you to peruse to at your own discretion (try listening to it as you play!)."

It's under "Demo." I recommend "Immolate."

Last week I shared a track from a #CastlevaniaIII tribute, an album to which Cristophe Blondel (CarboHydroM) also contributed as part of Prime Legion. Here's "Castle of Darkness," a solo cover of the game's attract sequence music, "Prelude," with guitars, drums, piano and harpsichord.

"I think the game intro worked so well because this theme was there. It's a wonderful example of well-written illustrative music, you can sort of feel how each part of the song speaks something different and tells the premise of an ominous adventure, to keep you hanging in the end. I hope you like it!"
