Last week I went for a slow walk across the barren hillsides of the Béara Peninsula and up to Hungry Hill.
I set off in the afternoon.
A couple of hours after leaving Castletownbere I met an elderly couple who had set off on the trail from Glengariff. I was the first person they met in about 9 hours of walking.
They were the only ones I met on day one.

No GoodMorningPicture today. Was at the Vet with my dog. She has an eczema again. Don't know why and where it comes from.
Still, after the Vet we had a joyful walk on a part of the #BearaWay. You see the #harbour of #Castletownbere, the surrounding hills and the #Derreenataggart #StoneCircle
We had to go to Castletownbere for Cara's vaccination. So, we walked a little bit on the Beara way above Castletown. You can see the harbour and the lighthouse on Bere Island.
