Half of the people in a city can't drive or don't own a car. The other half need to try going without a car sometime and stop giving so much money and power to the forces of evil. The vast majority of people are capable of riding a bike/trike / e-assist device capable of carrying a carton of milk or just your drunk ass a few miles without torching the world. #carsRuinEverything

Lower Thames Crossing has higher costs per mile than HS2

"Reeves and Alexander are both keen to press ahead with the project, which they have said is “vital” and will ease congestion on the M25.

However, the DfT confirmed it has yet to publish an “outline business case”, which would usually be produced before officials embark on large-scale works."

Bro just one more lane bro. One more lane will fix the traffic bro.

How Phoenix’s ‘Invisible’ Parking Lots Are Making Its Heat Problems Worse

"The asphalt beneath your feet absorbs approximately 95 percent of the solar radiation hitting it. Its surface temperature is somewhere between 150 and 170 degrees Fahrenheit...roads and parking lots glowing between 120 and 160 degrees across the metro. The cars sitting in those lots are ovens. The air rising off the pavement is a wall."

On today’s episode of #CarsRuinEverything my roommate is going to a music festival. The line of cars is six miles long backed up all the way to the freeway. He has been in this line for the past 11 hours. It’s almost like if you plan to have 15000 people all show up to the same place then cars just aren’t going to work…

Oh my, Belgian reporter Arnaud Farr manages to turn an article about a pedestrian who's been victim of a violent aggression by a #Brussels taxi driver into a "well that's understandable, there are so many different people on the road these days, and srsly you shouldn't touch people's cars 'cause poor drivers perceive them as their private homes & don't like it, so it's really the victim's fault" piece. 🤮

I emailed him but not sure he'll correct it.

Campaign to curb cars in Berlin sparks uproar ahead of election

"While cities such as Paris and London have pedestrianised major arteries and reduced parking space, Berlin’s ruling coalition of the CDU and the Social Democrats has shifted towards a more car-friendly approach since taking office in 2023. It has cut funding for bicycle lanes and softened plans to reduce parking. Speed limits in some areas have been raised to 50kph from 30kph"
