I was delighted to hear Astra Taylor bring up #anthropocentrism - I have long held the theory that our #speciesist/human-supremacist approach to life on earth is the slippery slope that supports the categorisation and "othering" of humans based on race, religion and nationality. To put it in #carnist terms, once you develop a taste (for othering), you can't stop.

Floris van den Berg is docent milieufilosofie aan de Universiteit van Utrecht. Hij schreef maar liefst 20 boeken, waaronder “Filosofie voor een Betere Wereld”, “Groen Liberalisme” en “De Vrolijke Veganist”. Hij noemt zichzelf vrijdenker, atheïst, liberalist, naturist en humanist en veganist.

Glanford power station is the most gruesome thing I have heard of in a while. Its fuel is dried meat. It burns Meat and Bone Meal (MBM) and has done since the BSE crisis.

I heard today about the horror that is "Outback Steakhouse".

Let me tell you the truth.

The true blue Aussie version has some vegan/veggie options for those who are obviously accompanying family/friends to the restaurant, unlike the US menu because in Australia cities these are very common choices.

We don't get the option of "kookaburra wings" because that makes us cry. They're a native bird that we know what they look & sound like.
