Now that the kids have basically outgrown the bakfiets, we've been trying to decide between getting a long-tail or a tandem. We already had a mid-tail, but were borrowing a tandem to see if kids preferred pedaling versus just passively sitting on the back of a bike.

Welp, today when one of the kids basically threw a tantrum and refused to pedal, we got our answer.

Our four year old wanyed to save up for a ride on car ‘like Bluey’. Her income is $5 per week and the model that looks like Bluey’s is $200. We primarily use our #bakfiets #cargobike as our main family car, and she already has a bike.

Us: How about you buy a doll seat to add to your bike?
Us: Your dolls will think it’s so much cooler to ride on your bike than in a car. Which do you think is more fun, the bike than the car?
Her: The car.
Us: Okay, so all the trips you’re going in the next few days can be by car.

Yes, she did eventually agree.

A member brought pre-grown tomatoes to the lab today, delivered by bike trailer. The mobile mini greenhouse, built from euro boxes and acrylic, fit right onto the carrier. The tomatoes are now planted in our raised beds in front of the workshop.
