Hamish The PolarBearDad moved into his new place today. I had to leave him to do some of the packing at the other end, we will need to go back for a few things as he was not following the list to the letter or thinking about what he needed to pack instead of what was to hand.
Got him unpacked and went shopping for stuff he needed. I hope he will be ok tonight now. At least he is only 15 minutes away instead of the middle of nowhere now.
I really hope this works out and he gets settled in OK.

Alfred Chow - Maker of ThingsAt today's repair cafe I have:
-Replaced the wheels on a pushchair. Easy one as client had the full spares kit.
-Sharpened gardening tools, scissors, and kitchen knives. That was a lot of sharpening, and I will need better kit for it.
-Lent tools to other repairers. Just cos I'm nice, and tooled up.
-Repaired a broken trophey. It was fixed to the base with a three start 1/4" threaded rod, but the threads in the bakalite were stripped. I cut it off and replaced it with an M6 thread and nuts.
We got away in good time and Mum got her Covid vaccination, and we all got flu vaccinations.
Lunch now, then off to MiL in Leicester.
MiL is struggling to hear her new digital landline phones ringing at home.
Is there a reliable device to extend/amplify the ringing volume?
Or is there a hack I can do to the phones to make them louder? Some way of adding a louder sounder or bell to a phone?

Currently looking at something like this. But it says plug into the wall socket. I don't know if that would also work if plugged into the back of the router for her digital phone line.
