On gratitude and luck…
About 13 years ago I had my kids with me when I was involved in a five-car smash-up. I unexpectedly found the photos while looking for something else.
We were all going the speed limit, and thought follow-distances were safe. But a driver up ahead suddenly decided they wanted to turn left. But not from the turn lane.
They slammed on their brakes in the driving lane. Five cars turned into one.
I’ll never forget the sound our car made. Or what the airbag felt like smashing my face and arm. Which, of course, saved me from massive injuries.
My kids were physically fine. Just scared and crying (they were little). I got burned, jammed my elbow, and lost my glasses. But that’s it. I must have tracked-in a four-leaf clover.
