Random thoughts about “work life balance”. Isn’t the whole concept of work life balance invented to justify the fact that we are working for causes that we don’t care about? When I say I enjoy the separation of work and life, what I really enjoy is the “life” part, the part where I don’t have to think or care about work because my “life” is more important. The work life balance keeps me in my place, it breeds laziness and content. No amount of balance will make me excited for my job if I think life is more important. When the culture creates this illusion of comfort in work life balance, workers are like the boiling frogs in tepid water. Can I really be comfortable knowing that this could be a tactic to reinforce content?
Trumps venture into bitcoin making millions over one day should be in itself enough reason to dispel the myths that "Rich ppl work hard for their money" and "Poor ppl are poor bc they're lazy"
