Day 11: It was a very long day with a distance of nearly 35 km. I was up on my feet quite early.
Due to the many kilometers I had covered by noon, I was surprised and very happy to find this cozy bench for a lunch break. :)
Sometimes the small things can make you very happy when you are reduced to a basic camping life.

The Scots pine is Scotland's national tree and is truly a stunning tree.
During the hike, I observed several initiatives aimed at restoring the native tree population through extensive reforestation efforts. However, at the moment, I only saw them occasionally, but it was always a majestic view.

It's still raining heavily on the tenth day, creating mysterious and intense moments.
I am now close to Ullapool and thus have completed more than half of the total distance.

Photo of Day 9: Just because you have a path (as often as you won't have one) doesn't mean it's easier going than somewhere off-road.
Sometimes, there's no difference between a path and the river next to it. In fact, it's sometimes easier to walk in the river because the ground is harder than the muddy holes on the path that thousands of hikers have made.

On the evening of day 8, I had a few hours of "no rain." Thus, I took advantage of that opportunity to dry my wet equipment. It is not often that you find two suitable trees for a clothesline in the higher regions of the Highlands.
Interestingly, the interior of my tent was mostly wet due to condensation. At night, the temperature dropped to only 2 or 3°C.

Day seven: the rain joined me, and it will continue for the next five days. I rather like it, the colors of autumn become so much more intense.
Furthermore, a bothy is visible in this photo. It's a wonderful service of the Mountain Bothies Association of Scotland. I used them twice during the 17 days and was always very happy for the shelter.
