🧬 Scientists from IMI project EUbOPEN have worked out how an enzyme called NUDT5 acts as a 'handbrake' on the production of purines, one of the building blocks of DNA. The finding, published in the latest edition of Science Magazine, is important because it explains why some cancers are resistant to certain treatments.
