I don't know if the #SexualAbuse allegations against #CeasarChavez are true or not & I don't know if his accusers are lying or not but the last I heard, one is supposed to be "presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law."

Unfortunately for Chavez, who is no longer alive to defend himself, this "old saw" does not apply in the "court of public opinion & it's amazing to me how quickly certain people & politicians now want to ERASE Chavez's name from street signs, buildings, organizations & everywhere else it's placed.

Even if the accusations are true, Chavez was an important historical figure & his contributions to the labor movement & to the Latino community still deserve to be remembered & his name does not deserved to be erased from our memory.

Just my 2 cents . . . 🤷🏻‍♂️
