Tuesday! The day where we we say . . . I feel ugh. Stupid spring cold.
Also, has anyone else noticed that PeePee is raising the level of rhetoric against PM Carney now that there is no danger of an election? Loser.

Why do I keep saying that landowners are the ones that should pay higher taxes?
It's because it doesn't make sense to me that land ownership should be respected for "not paying into the system".
Like, if you want to play this silly game that little boys play of territorialism in elementary school playgrounds, where they draw imaginary boundaries, then by all means do so.
But for people who didn't consent to it, you gotta have a good reason why the respect for imaginary boundaries should be enforced.
To make it really easy: don't tax improvements; just land ownership.

The Reddit comments regarding the following post are calling out how it is absolutely fair that BC assessment has reclassified Big Bang Cider's land use as "light industrial", but I don't think land use should be taxed more.
Just land occupation should be taxed, and nothing else.
(Of course, I'm probably the "anti-tax (except land)" equivalent of marxists: I'm probably missing nuance.)

The owner of Big Bang Cidery in Nanaimo says a recent notice from B.C. Assessment has put his farm in a legal grey area that could increase his taxes significantly. However, the agency cites specific reasons for changing how it's classified part of the property.
Harper is still a conniving jerk, i see.
“I worked closely with the late and great Jim Flaherty during the financial crisis,” Mr. Carney said on Tuesday. “I note that Pierre Poilievre was not at any of those tables, was not given any of that responsibility, and note further that in subsequent years, he has not gained any responsibility in managing crises or difficult situations.”

As I continue to feel more and more horrified the further in I read, two major concerns continues to come to mind:
1. Could #Canadianresidents living close to the US border risk losing #herdimmunities to infectious diseases amid US service and worker cuts, ie., 2,400 employees cut from U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
2. Quality assurances for US-made perishables, such as dairy and meats, may very well become non-existent; "cuts will include 3,500 full-time employees from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration."
#Canadians NEED to be smart with their votes this April. Which political group will protect us Canadians BEST from all the spill over from the US? Not just the financial spill over, due to do trade war-time tariffs. Who will keep us physically and mentally safe?

I wanted to tag Poilievre's Fediverse account, but not surprisingly, there is none to be found.

🇨🇦 #WarJournal Day 1. The US announces that they will be removing sanctions from Russian pot ash and of course that combined with an upcoming 25% tariff on Canadian pot ash is a serious blow to the economy of Saskatchewan. If Russia can meet demand it also takes away an important Canadian lever in the trade war. Not to mention it enriches a European autocrat currently in a shooting war with one of our allies. #ElbowsUp #CanadianPoli
