i saw some post teasing the canadians, that the flag on the moon doesnt show the canadian flag. well even at the time the #usa relied on suppliers from all over the west; that hasnt changed; #artemis (still) is a international endeavour.

Though young by comparison to agencies like #NASA, #CSA has contributed significantly to our adventures in #space, including: creating #Canadarm 1 & 2 (a.k.a., #SRMS/#SSMS); supporting the construction of #ISS; a planned rover for #Artemis; as well as a big commitment to help build the #LunarGateway (thru Canadarm 3)

The Canadian Space Agency (CSA) was established on March 1, 1989, under the Canadian Space Agency Act passed by the Parliament of Canada. This marked a significant milestone in Canada's space history, formalizing the country's commitment to space exploration and technology. Prior to the formation of the CSA, Canada had already made notable contributions to space technology, including the creation of the Alouette 1 satellite in 1962, which made Canada the third country to design and build its own satellite.
When #Canada was first invited to participate in the #American Space #Shuttle Program, their contribution was not yet specified.
However, #NASA soon found a Canadian company that had built a #robotic mechanism capable of fueling a nuclear reactor: DSMA ATCON, which impressed them.
NASA asked for a remote manipulator (#RobotArm) for the #SpaceShuttle, and Canada produced a #RemoteManipulatorSystem or #Canadarm for every #SpaceShuttle, as well as a second generation for the #ISS, and a third for the #LunarGateway.
