Last day of #birding in #Canada ; a fabulous trip with good company. A big 'thank you' to local birders / nature lovers who told us where to find Bluebird & Bobolink, for the tip-offs of the Whip-poor-will & Screech Owl very much appreciated. Two days in #Toronto & the #holiday finished on a high (1168 ft to be exact),what an experience!!

From the #CanadaTrip - we saw plenty of these Eastern Chipmunk during the holiday. This one had a burrow entrance right on a path at Long Point Bird Observatory and would happily scurry around anyone in its way.
Day 8 of the #CanadaTrip and the #birding continues on a high. The day was spent at Long Point Bird Observatory and Long Point Provincial Park (old). Amongst the highlights today a Wilson's Warbler!

Day 7 of the #CanadaTrip Most of the day was spent at Long Point with more Warblers seen - Nashville, Blackburnian, Chestnut-sided, Cape May amongst others & Eastern Wood Peewee. A trip outside LPBO brought us Eastern Bluebird. Then later in Backus Woods, the utterly astounding sound of a Pileated Woodpecker drumming - just WOW!

Wild Turkey - I was nicknamed 'Captain Breadcrumb' by the rest of the crew because for the first part of the #CanadaTrip , I was the one consistently finding Wild Turkey. Here's a little video of a male displaying and female (towards the end of the video - after the dodgy bit of filming π ). Watched at Point Pelee National Park

Day 6 of the #CanadaTrip Our first visit to the Long Point Bird Observatory. The unusual-birds-to-us continued to impress and it was a real pleasure to see new species. We spent most of the day at LPBO but also visited the new Long Point Provincial Park - Plot 419's trees were dripping with birds!
