Hey local Canadians - with the CdaPost strike in rotating mode, does anyone know if the post offices in pharmacies etc are accepting packages for shipment?

Are they even open? Not sure if those are postal employees or not.

Just watched our postal delivery person pull up and leave the parking lot in a brand NEW Unmarked Delivery Van!

Note: No Amazon packages were visible so he's not suddenly working for their delivery service

While past Canada Post worker strikes seem to have been mostly for CUPW and its members' self-interest (and with impacts on the public at large) ' would guess this latest, ongoing strike is probably their last stand for (yes, much of their self-interest, but also) protecting what remains of and would maintain any semblance of an actual public postal service.

Not having a public postal service would really suck - of course the private companies will end up just price-gouging while their service slowly declines (à la grocery, telecommunications, insurance, airline cartels).

Their struggle now deserves support.
