With the closure of Hwy 4, traffic is being rerouted through a detour south of Port Alberni through to Lake Cowichan — but concerns are mounting over its safety and accessibility.

Already there have been multiple accidents along the route. It's going from bad to worse

The Lake Cowichan "detour" will be closed from 1pm to 9pm on June 9th. The west coast of Vancouver Island is going to be isolated for more than just a few days.
